January Workshop - Roller Derby Girl

This month's theme will be roller derby! Melissa, our model, will be punked out in a roller derby uniform. Don't miss out on this one.

A few things to keep in mind. If you're going to take photos, take a moment and ask the model. This workshop is designed for you to gather references but not all models are used to it. Break the ice and just ask if it's cool to be photographed. Again these are for references only try not to post them all over the net. And along those lines of references I wanted to point out that if you're taking your studies to the next level and possibly working on a portfolio piece be sure to gather some references of other derby girls for costume ideas, look at photos of bruises you might want to add.

August Workshop Theme - Pris from Bladerunner

This month's theme will be Pris as a doll. I'll turn our model into a living doll and style her like Pris near the end of the movie. So, this will essentially be more of a combination life drawing and costume workshop. Just not so much costume and lots of styling.

Since we'll have a nude model the photography portion will be limited to just me and the ok of the model.

July Workshop - Conan

This month's theme will be Conan. Swords, fur, leather. That's all conan needed. Since this is such an iconic hero figure, bring sketches to shoot references if you're working on a current or future project. We can do this after the session and just tip the model a little extra.

I'll bring drinks and snacks for everyone since I got held up by UPS at the June workshop.

June - The Faun 6/29/12

June marks the one year anniversary of the workshop! We're having the costume specially made by our fabulous model, Brittany. Our costume will be a forest faun. This is going to be totally awesome, you're not going to want to miss this or go without bringing a friend.
I'll bring plenty of drinks and snacks for everyone.

Maggie will be joining Brittany on the stage! Tim and Brittany will be bringing along their awesome dog as leg reference for some of the shapes Brittany's legs could look like.
