June Workshop - Batgirl!

The June theme will be Batgirl.

I met an amazing cosplayer at C2E2 and she agreed to do the workshop. I love her black and yellow costume. I can't tell you how excited I am to try and capture that vibrant yellow. I also wanted to offer a much longer pose than usual, five hours. SInce our model was only available on the weekend, Saturday June 14, I thought this was a great opportunity for an extended pose.

We will do some short poses to warm up and have one 4.5 hour pose. The fee for this workshop will be $25. I'll have some snacks and drinks.

May Workshop - Samurai!

This month's theme will be SAMURAI!

Come and draw or paint our model fully dressed in a suit of samurai armor from Chicago Costume. Also note the slight time change for this month. We will be starting at 6:30 PM.

 

I'm working with a great team of artists on a KickStarter project called Shogun Rising.

What is Shogun Rising?

 

Shogun Rising is an original story and full 64 page color illustrated graphic novel about love, samurai, and zombies. Near-future Tokyo is zombie apocalypse ground zero. Survivors are forced to flee to a remote samurai village. Hiroshi, a samurai prodigy, and Mizuki, the daughter of a ruthless Tokyo crime-boss, attempt to navigate the new world and their forbidden love. Tensions arise as cultures clash and the chances of survival diminish. And yes, samurais will totally fight zombies.

Now, the tie-in to the workshop is anyone who backs the project over $14 can come to the workshop for FREE. Just bring a print out of the email for me.
